LEADR - Association of Dispute
Resolvers LEADR is an Australasian, not-for-profit membership organisation that promotes alternative dispute resolution including mediation. LEADR has members in Australia, New Zealand and throughout the Asia Pacific region. More about LEADR >> Mediator self-care workshop with Ike Lasater
Working with people in conflict stimulates reactions – to the subject matter, the people involved and conflict in general. Ike teaches the skill of self-empathy (as based on the principles of Non-violent Communication), which enables us to change our response to these inner dialogues and better care for ourselves. This helps sustain us in our work as ADR practitioners. More info and registration form >> There is an introductory evening to Mediator self-care with Ike Lasater at the NSW Chapter meeting in Sydney on Monday 15 February. Narrative mediation workshop with Richard Cohen
In this workshop, Richard, a lawyer and mediator from California and one of Narrative mediation's founders, will incorporate narrative and transformative perspectives into a process which can heal as well as resolve. "Narrative mediation assists parties to get beyond negative and destructive patterns of interaction," says Richard. Co-facilitated with Stella Levy, the workshop will also introduce a restorative mediation component. Role plays and scenarios will be matched to the participants' backgrounds: workplace, family and/or community.
