Family Court of Australia's view of mediation
with The Hon Justice Peter Rose
The Hon Justice Peter Rose will outline the Family Courts of Australia's approach to mediation and share his thoughts and insights about the future of mediation and other ADR processes in the courts.
The Family Court of Australia has encouraged and provided facilities and opportunities for mediation, particularly in children's cases for around 30 years making it a leader in this field in Australia.
Due to improved court practice and procedure, the Court's mediation process has become more refined and also now includes property settlement cases.
Over the last four years the Court has utilised a less adversarial trial procedure which also maximises, at an early opportunity, the prospects of mediation between the parties.
