A chance to catch one of the highlights from LEADR's conference, 'kon gres 2009 in Melbourne
Invisible forces: what is
the mediator’s role in setting the limits of possibility for mediation outcomes?
with Anne Sutherland-Kelly
on Wednesday 24 March 2010
What are invisible forces? The myriad things going on in a mediation room that an audio-visual recording does not capture.
What invisible forces impact on the mediation process? Forces considered will include the mediator's expectations of the parties and the mediator's capacity to hold emotional possibility.
What is the mediator’s responsibility in relation to these forces? What impact do these forces have on parties and on mediation outcomes?
Anne will revisit the workshop delivered at 'kon gres 2009 drawing on learning from Positive Psychology and Appreciative Inquiry, two schools of current thought and practice which offer rich insights for conflict specialists. Her analysis is grounded in case study experiences from her own practice.
Feedback on Anne's workshop at 'kon gres:
"A highlight for me. Higher level thinking one has come to anticipate and treasure from Anne."
"Thought provoking; will be the topic I take home with me."
"Inspiring session. Engaging and carefully crafted."
