About Leigh Sealy
After serving his apprenticeship with Page, Seager, Bethune, Thompson & Gray (as it then was), Mr Leigh Sealy SC was admitted as a barrister and solicitor in Tasmania in 1981. He practised at Piggott, Wood & Baker from that year. In 1985 he was admitted as a barrister and solicitor of the High Court of Australia. He continued to practise as a partner at Piggott, Wood & Baker until 2001. In that year, he moved to the Tasmanian Independent Bar as a specialist in commercial law, construction law, equity and trusts, planning law and sports law. Mr Sealy SC was then appointed to the role of Solicitor-General of Tasmania and has held that office since March 2008.
About Tony Newport
Tony has been working as a mediator in the Tasmanian workplace since 1994. He has been involved in employee assistance programs since 1985 and runs a private state-wide mediation, counselling and education company. He has previously presented papers at national mediation and LEADR conferences and is a former co-chair and director of the National Mediation Conference.
In a past life Tony also worked as a miner, union rep, bank clerk and labourer.
