Mediation demonstration

This 1.5 hour mediation demonstration will be provided by Graham Castledine (right) as mediator and Caroline Heffer and John Christo as role players.

Come along and watch a reality test of the LEADR mediation model.

Time permitting, there will be an opportunity for questions.

This demonstration is being held as a voluntary addition to the LEADR 5 day course running 17-21 May. LEADR members and friends are welcome.

Refreshments will be provided by LEADR.

 

About Graham Castledine

Graham Castledine has represented parties in a variety of mediations, and has conducted numerous successful mediations since becoming a LEADR accredited mediator in 2005. He is chairperson of LEADR's WA Chapter executive and a member of the ADR committee of the Law Society, and has experience as a co-presenter of the UWA Law School short intensive course on negotiation and mediation. Graham is also accredited under the National Mediator Accreditation System.

Since Graham was admitted to the Supreme Court of WA in 1987, he has advised and represented clients in a variety of areas including commercial disputes, administrative law, local government and town planning, environmental dispute, native title and Aboriginal heritage issues. His experience includes appearing for clients in the High Court, Federal Court, Supreme Court of WA, the Native Title Tribunal, Administrative Appeals Tribunal and State Administrative Tribunal.

About Caroline Heffer

Caroline Heffer has been actively involved in ADR since 2004 and achieved national accreditation in 2010 based on her experience in the field. Caroline currently works for the Health and Disability Services Complaints Office where she specialises in assisting to resolve disputes related to the provision of disability and health services across WA. She is also the vice-chair of LEADR's WA Chapter executive.

About John Christo

John Christo has been involved in ADR in various courts in WA since 1996.He is nationally accredited according to the National Mediator Accreditation System. He is currently in-house counsel at Landgate, which is WA’s land registration agency. John is a member of LEADR's WA Chapter executive.

CPD

This event contributes 1.5 hours to your CPD for LEADR accreditation and/or national accreditation.

Attendees are also entitled to 1.5 CPD point under category 1: Professional Practice and Skills as required by the WA Legal Practice Board.

Note

LEADR does not issue certificates for CPD points to attendees. However we record and retain the sign-in sheets for LPB audit purposes. Attendees are required to keep their own records of accrued LPB CPD points.
