Opportunity cost: preparing you and your clients for mediation
Presented as part of Law Week by LEADR WA Chapter Executives with guest panellist Professor James J Brown
The most difficult agreement to reach in mediation can be your clients' agreement to come to the table with a mediation mindset.
While it is said that 'Preparation is the key to success', in fact with the wrong sort of preparation you are doomed to failure.
Lawyers are skilled at preparing for litigation but what does that preparation have in common with the preparation needed for mediation? When is a well prepared litigant or lawyer at risk of crashing and burning in a mediation?
This will be an interactive session giving you the opportunity to ask questions of experienced mediators on the panel.
Facilitator: Judge Chris Stevenson, District Court of WA
Panel:
Professor James J Brown, Karene Primrose, Scott Ellis, Robin Tapper
